【摘要】:Gaseousfuels,suchasnaturalgas,petroleumgasesandbio-gases,containvaryingamountsandtypesofsulfurcompounds.Thesesulfurcompoundsaregenerallyodorous,corrosivetoequipment,andcaninhibitordestroycatalystsemployedingasprocessingandenduse,suchasthoseusedinfuelcell.Theiraccurateon-linemeasurementisessentialtogasprocessing,operationandutilization,andofregulatoryinterest.Smallamounts(typically,total4-6PPMv)ofsulfurodorantsareaddedtonaturalgasandotherfuelgasesforsafetypurposes.Somesulfurodorantscanbereactive,andmaybeoxidized,formingmorestablesulfurcompoundshavinglowerodorthresholds.Thesegaseousfuelsareanalyzedforsulfurodorantstohelpinmonitoringandtoensureappropriateodorantlevelsforpublicsafety.Thismethodoffersanon-linetechniquetocontinuouslyidentifyandquantifyindividualtargetsulfurspeciesingaseousfuelwithautomaticcalibrationandvalidation.1.1Thistestmethodisforon-linemeasurementofvolatilesulfur-containingcompoundsingaseousfuelsbygaschromatography(GC)andelectrochemical(EC)detection.Thetestmethodisapplicabletohydrogensulfide,C1-C4mercaptans,sulfidesandtetrahydrothiophene(THT).1.1.1Carbonylsulfide(COS)isnotcoveredinthistestmethod.1.1.2Thedetectionrangeforsulfurcompoundsisapproximatelyfrom0.1to100PPMvor0.1to100mg/m3.Thedetectionrangemayvarydependingonthesampleinjectionvolume,chromatographicpeakseparationandthesensitivityofspecificECdetector.1.2ThistestmethoddescribesaGC-ECmethodemployingpackedGCcolumnsandaspecificdetectorasanillustrationfornaturalgasandothergaseousfuelcontainingmainlylighthydrocarbons.AlternativeGCcolumns,detectordesignsandinstrumentparametersmaybeusedforthesameanalysisorfordifferenttypesofgaseousfuel,providedthatappropriatechromatographicseparationandoptimaldetectionofthesecompoundscanbeachieved.1.3Thistestmethoddoesnotintendtoidentifyandmeasureallindividualsulfurspecies,andismainlyemployedformonitoringnaturalsulfurandsulfurodorantcompoundscommonlyfoundinfuelgasesoremployedasanodorouswarningagentinfuelgases.1.4Thetestmethodisnormallyemployedforrepetitiveon-linemonitoringofsulfurcomponentsinfuelgaseswithasinglesulfurstandard.Thetestmethodmaybeemployedforlaboratory-qualitymeasurementwithmoreextensivecalibration.(SeeTestMethodsD5504,D5623,D6228,D6968,ISO19739,ISO6326-2,andGPA2199.)1.5Thetestmethodcanbeusedformeasurementofalllistedsulfurcompoundsinairorothergases,providedthatnocompound,whichcaninterferewiththeGCseparationandelectrochemicaldetection,ispresent.1.6ThistestmethodiswritteninconjunctionwithPracticesD5287,D7165andD7166.1.7ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.8Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
