【摘要】:Resultsofthistestmethodareusedtopredictdisplacementsinrockmasscausedbyloadsfromastructureorfromundergroundconstruction.Itisoneofseveralteststhatshouldbeperformed.Becausethejackcanapplydirectedloads,thistestmethodcanbeperformedtoprovideanestimateofanisotropy.Intheory,theanalysisoftestdataisstraightforward;themodulusestimaterequiresarecordofappliedhydraulicpressureversusboreholediameterchange,andaknowledgeoftherock''sPoisson''sratio.Inpractice,theaboveprocedure,usingtheoriginaltheoreticalformula,frequentlyhasresultedincomputingamaterialmodulusthatwasdemonstrablytoolow.Foranalyzingthetestdataitisassumedthattherockmassislinearlyelastic,isotropic,andhomogeneous.Withintheseassumptions,thistestmethodcanprovideusefuldataforrockmassesforwhichequivalentcontinuouspropertiescannotbefoundorestimated.Note18212;Notwithstandingthestatementsonprecisionandbiascontainedinthistestmethod;theprecisionofthistestmethodisdependentonthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingit,andthesuitabilityoftheequipmentandfacilitiesused.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofPracticeD3740aregenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetesting.UsersofthistestmethodarecautionedthatcompliancewithPracticeD3740doesnotinitselfassurereliabletesting.Reliabletestingdependsonmanyfactors;PracticeD3740providesameansofevaluatingsomeofthosefactors.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheestimationofinsitumodulusofarockmassatvariousdepthsandorientations.Informationontime-dependentdeformationmayalsobeobtained.1.2AllobservedandcalculatedvaluesshallconformtotheguidelinesforsignificantdigitsandroundingestablishedinPracticeD6026.1.2.1Themethodusedtospecifyhowdataarecollected,calculated,orrecordedinthisstandardisnotdirectlyrelatedtotheaccuracytowhichthedatacanbeappliedindesignorotheruses,orboth.Howoneappliestheresultsobtainedusingthisstandardisbeyonditsscope.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoinch-poundunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
